August 22 (Day 73) - Travel Day With Stopover in Hillsdale, Illinois

It was a welcome sight to wake up to the sun shining after such a rainy day yesterday. We started our day by taking a walk to the campground bathrooms to brush our teeth. While this wasn’t too big of a deal, we all definitely preferred when the camper was fully hooked up so we could use our own bathroom. After getting ready and eating breakfast we were on the road at 8am. Today was our final full travel day before the next major destination. The drive would be 370 miles to Sunset Lakes Resort in Hillsdale, Illinois. With stops for gas and food it took us about 8 hours and we pulled into the campground at 4pm.

We had another pull-thru site which is always so much easier for a one night stay. The weather was beautiful so Adam was able to set up camp and get everything hooked up but we still stayed hitched since we would be moving again first thing in the morning.

Since it was the end of the season this campground had hardly any campers but was filled with amenities. It was a beautiful campground with lots of green grass and trees all about. Our site was in the last row and backed up to a corn field.

We spent the rest of the day enjoying everything the campground had to offer. The girls of course had to check out the playground. They had a great time on the pillow jump. There was an indoor clubhouse with a game room. Adam ended up taking the girls swimming in the huge pool. After the sun set we settled in for the evening relaxing in the RV with another movie and game night.
